1. Establishing what you want

We liaise closely with our contacts and partners around the world to ensure that the range of yachts we offer caters for the interests and tastes of even the most discerning of clients.

The first step is to determine exactly what type of yacht you want to buy and what is your motivation for using it. It is important that we know your budget, needs, preferences and objectives.

The following list will give you an idea of what we would like to know in order to find the right yacht for you:

  • Do you prefer a custom-built or semi-custom yacht?
  • Are you interested in a motor or sailing yacht?

2. Choose your broker

Regardless of your level of experience, having a broker to guide and accompany you through the buying process ensures the best possible transaction.

Your broker will be your investigator and broker all communications and negotiations.

Our brokers have access to some yachts that may not be for sale publicly, which increases the likelihood of finding the ideal yacht. Their goal is to make your wishes come true.

3. Finding and selecting the right yacht for you

The most important thing is to determine all the unique requirements of your yacht, to help us find the perfect match.

Once you have decided on the essential features, our sales agents will begin the search for the ideal yacht.

Your broker will provide you with a list of available options, including yachts that are not published or may even be for private use.

They will also share with you estimates of the yacht's running costs and expected profit should you wish to charter it.

4. Narrowing the yacth selection

In this step, after having carried out an exhaustive and objective search, your broker will provide you with a personalised selection of yachts that could fit your needs, sending you all the necessary specifications.

They will answer any questions you may have, as well as offering to arrange visits to the ones you are most interested in. Your time is valuable, so during the visit he will let you know if the yacht does not suit your needs or may not be right for you (it is in poor condition, does not suit the purposes for which you will be using it).

5. Review recommended yachts

Once your broker has researched the entire market of yachts for sale and assessed all the possibilities available, he will share all the information with you in a clear manner.

6. View your shortlisted yachts

Once the shortlist has been agreed, your broker will draw up a tentative itinerary of visits for you or your chosen representative.

Your broker will accompany you on each visit, check every aspect of the yacht, suggest which yacht suits your needs and which has the potential to meet your defined expectations.

If you think you have found the yacht and want to buy it, your broker will visit you in person and give you their opinion to help you make your purchase decision.

7. Managing and negotiating the purchase

Once the purchase decision is made, your broker will handle aspects of the offer phase, negotiation and, ultimately, the closing of the purchase.

Our sales team works closely with our experienced accounting, legal and construction teams, enabling them to call on the best tax, legal and technical experts in the industry before completing the transaction.

8. Contract, survey & sea trial

Once the price has been agreed, your broker will draw up the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the document that will be the reference document for the sale of the yacht as it commits both parties to progress the sale to a successful conclusion, unless there is good cause for not completing the sale.

Good cause for not completing the transaction could be the existence of unacceptable inspection items or anything else that would lead to a renegotiation of the price that has not been agreed.

In such cases a legal team is often necessary. Your broker will assist you in preparing and verifying the buyer's and seller's documentation. If you do not have a specialist yacht lawyer, your broker can recommend one. And if you already have one appointed, they will contact them.

It is important to know what the ownership structure of the yacht will be.

Your broker will be responsible for:

  • Arranging the survey and sea trial of the yacht on your behalf.
  • Preparing, together with your legal team, the addenda to the MOA, listing all documents required by both the seller and the buyer prior to completion of the sale.
  • Contact the seller's team to ensure delivery of all documentation.
  • Other tasks you may need advice on, such as registration, hiring crew, obtaining moorings and management of the yacht.

9. Closing the sale

Once the yacht is finally yours, your broker will be happy to support and advise you on what to do with your new acquisition. Perhaps you want to keep it for yourself, or perhaps you want to offer it for charter. Whatever your wishes, we can take over the management of your yacht.
